Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 September 2026 — archived

Archived version

This is the policy as it stood on 5 September 2026, covering app versions up to 1.1.0. It is kept here for reference only — the policy in force is the current privacy policy.

Weightfile is a logbook that runs on your iPhone. It has no account, no server of its own, and no analytics. This policy explains exactly what that means, and the one place where a third party is unavoidably involved.

In short

Your weights, calories, macros, photos and settings never leave your device. We cannot see them. There is no way for us to see them.

1. Who is responsible

Weightfile is developed and published by Mateusz Czechowski, an individual developer. For any question about this policy, write to weightfile@proton.me.

2. What stays on your device

Everything you enter is written to a database stored inside the app on your iPhone. Nothing in this list is transmitted anywhere:

The app has no account system and no sign-up. It works fully offline, including in airplane mode.

3. What we do not do

4. Camera

If you choose to attach a progress photo, iOS asks for camera permission. The captured image is saved into the app's own on-device storage and attached to that day's entry. It is not uploaded, not backed up to any service of ours, and not shared. You can delete a photo at any time from the day it belongs to, or remove all of them with the delete-all option in Settings. If you never add a photo, the app never uses the camera.

5. Notifications

Weigh-in, macro and streak reminders are local notifications scheduled by the app on your device. They are not push notifications, they do not travel through any server, and their content is generated on the phone from data that is already there. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.

6. Purchases

Weightfile offers one optional non-consumable in-app purchase. The payment itself is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment method, card details, billing address or Apple Account credentials.

To check whether a purchase is valid and keep it restorable on your other devices, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-infrastructure provider. In that process RevenueCat receives:

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or any of your weight, macro or photo data. This information is used only to unlock and restore the purchase, never for advertising or tracking. RevenueCat's own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

This begins at first launch, not at first purchase: on startup the app asks RevenueCat whether this device already holds the unlock, so an anonymous record exists even if you never buy anything. That record holds nothing personal beyond the identifier RevenueCat generated for it, and you can stop it existing at all by deleting the app.

7. Backups

If you back your iPhone up to iCloud or to a computer, Apple's backup includes the app's data, the same as for any other app. That backup is Apple's, governed by Apple's terms, and is not accessible to us. The app itself performs no cloud sync of any kind.

8. Children

Weightfile is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly process any data from them. Since the app collects no personal data at all, there is nothing about a child to collect.

9. Your rights and your data

Because your entries never reach us, you exercise every right over them directly on the device. You can delete all entries at once from Settings, or delete the app, which removes its data with it. Both actions are permanent. There is nothing on our side to request access to, correct, or ask us to erase.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the rights under the GDPR apply to personal data a controller processes — for this app, that set is empty apart from the purchase data described in section 6, which is processed for the legitimate purpose of delivering a product you paid for.

10. Changes to this policy

If the app ever starts doing something this document does not describe, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change with it.
